Photography is more than a hobby for me. It is part of my heritage. Both my father and mother shot professionally for many years. Following in my fathers footsteps. I also like to leave my studio at late hours of the night and just be around the energy of people. My goal usually is to disappear into the crowd. After Several years of working in the music industry i have found a love for pretty much all music, or at least i’ll give it a try (yeah even country) For this reason i often find myself shooting concerts, bands, and local hip hop spots. I’m also a outdoors and snowboarding freak. So when i can get away my camera is usually with me.
If i don’t get my shots posted right away, my schedule doesn’t always allow for me to get back to them. I shoot with a pretty basic canon 40d and a few of my dads older EOS lenses. I try to almost never use a flash. (helps with blending in)
Currently I’m working out the kinks of realtime transfer of my images to my blog directly from the camera to the iPad. I do shoot RAW and full manual, most of the images that you will see on my blog, however are unmodified Jpeg files directly from the camera (I actually shoot small, jpg + RAW) The main reason for this is practice. By trying to get the image right with just the camera I really have to think about my composition and cuts out hours of post production. When I’m back at my desk working of a website or iPad project i’m still thinking in terms of composition. Often times things I shoot make their way back into my designs as background textures or stock images.
