One theme that is becoming apparent from my research is that a lot of academics feel that the thinking part of the problem with interaction design is the “hard part” hmmm doesn’t it all require thinking? I wonder if they are simpy refering to the part that they understand?
I am not finding to many cases of technical designers “bad mouthing” academics. But there are plently of academics that feel that the work they do is more important than the technical producers of there ideals. How dangerous is this way of thinking when it comes to collaboration? Is there a better approach to this? From a education standpoint I agree that we do need creative thinkers but we also need executers of these creative ideals. i can’t say that i agree that one still is better that the other. If you lose either skill what are you left with??? Strange i am starting to see the possibilty of a certain kind of classism inside of interaction design. hmmmm
